Iguaçu Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is one of the world's most spectacular waterfall systems, located on the border between Brazil and Argentina. The falls are comprised of 275 individual cascades, with the most famous being the Devil's Throat (Garganta del Diablo), a U-shaped cataract that plunges with immense power. The surrounding Iguaçu National Park is a verdant paradise, teeming with diverse flora and fauna, contributing to the area's rich biodiversity. On the Brazilian side, visitors are treated to panoramic views of the falls, offering a broad perspective of the entire complex. A single 1500-meter circuit allows you to appreciate the vastness of the falls. The Argentine side, in contrast, provides a more immersive experience, with multiple trails leading to different vantage points, allowing you to get up close and personal with the cascading waters. The ecological train offers easy access to the various viewpoints around the falls. Iguaçu Falls has a rich history, with both the Argentine and Brazilian sides being declared National Parks in the 1930s. Eleanor Roosevelt, upon seeing the falls, famously exclaimed, "Poor Niagara," acknowledging the superior grandeur of Iguaçu. Beyond the falls themselves, the surrounding area offers a variety of activities, including boat trips to the base of the falls, jungle treks, and visits to nearby wildlife sanctuaries.
