From Recife Airport (REC), the easiest way to reach Recife Station is by taking the metro. Walk along the 500-meter covered walkway to Estação Aeroporto. Take the Linha Sul (South Line) towards Recife. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes to Estação Recife. A single ticket costs around R$4.25. From there, the Recife Station is a short walk away.

More than just a subway stop, it carries a rich history, having once been the central railway station connecting Recife to various cities in Pernambuco and neighboring states. Opened in 1888, the station, also known as Estação Central Capiba/Museu do Trem, was designed by architect Herculano Ramos. The building's facade features two turrets adorned with four bronze eagles and a clock in the middle. In its heyday, the station facilitated travel to the suburbs of Recife and distant locations. Over time, trains became obsolete, leading to the implementation of the Recife subway system (MetroREC). The station now serves as a gateway to this modern transportation system. Today, Recife Station provides access to various attractions, including Recife Antigo, known for its colonial architecture and nightlife.
