Ferry and Car
To reach Coral Bay, begin by taking a ferry from Red Hook, St. Thomas, to Cruz Bay, St. John. Ferries depart hourly, with a one-way fare of $8.15 per person plus $4.00 for each checked bag. Upon arrival in Cruz Bay, the most convenient way to reach Coral Bay is by renting a car. Several rental agencies are located near the ferry dock. The drive to Coral Bay is approximately 30 minutes along Route 10, offering scenic views. Keep in mind that driving is on the left side of the road. Parking is generally available in Coral Bay, but it can be limited in certain areas. Car barge from Redhook, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John is also an option for $50 roundtrip, $30 one-way + Port Authority fee $3 - $4.
Public Transportation
Alternatively, you can take the Vitran bus from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay. The bus departs from the Cruz Bay ferry dock approximately 20 minutes past the hour, with the last bus leaving at 7:15 PM. The fare is $1 per person. However, the bus service is infrequent and may not be reliable, so it's best to check the schedule in advance. The bus travels along Centerline Road (Route 10). Taxis are also available, but they can be expensive for the trip to Coral Bay.
