If you're traveling by car, start from Rila Monastery, which is a popular starting point in the region. Head south on the Rila Monastery Road (also known as E79) for approximately 10 km. After you reach the town of Rila, follow signs for 'Stob' and continue on the road for about 5 km. You will see signs directing you to the Stob Pyramids. There are designated parking areas available near the site, but be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

Public Transportation
To reach the Stob Pyramids using public transportation, take a bus from Sofia to Rila. Buses depart regularly from the Sofia Central Bus Station, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Rila bus station, you can take a local bus or taxi to Stob. Local buses to Stob may have limited schedules, so be sure to check the times ahead of your trip. The taxi ride from Rila to Stob takes about 10-15 minutes and costs around 10-15 BGN (Bulgarian Lev).

For the more adventurous, you can hike to the Stob Pyramids from Rila Monastery. This hike is approximately 12 km and will take around 3-4 hours. Start at the Rila Monastery and follow marked trails leading towards Stob. Bring plenty of water and snacks, and wear good hiking shoes as the terrain can be rocky. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way!
