North Park Travel Guide

North Park, situated in Sofia's Severen district, provides a welcome respite from the urban environment. Created in the 1960s on former farming lands, the park experienced a period of neglect before undergoing a significant reconstruction in 2014. Today, it boasts a revitalized landscape with diverse flora, a man-made lake, and thematic playgrounds. The park's design includes dedicated play areas for young children, one with a marine theme near the lake and another resembling Nadezhda Airport, complete with terminals and airplanes. These enclosed playgrounds offer a safe environment for kids, while other play structures are scattered throughout the park. Visitors can also find outdoor fitness equipment, restaurants, and stalls within the park.North Park also features a sundial at the entrance to its forested section, along with walking paths and gardens. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as squirrels and various bird species. The park's location, bordered by Lokomotiv Stadium, industrial facilities, and residential areas, makes it easily accessible for locals and tourists alike. Whether you're looking for a peaceful stroll, a family outing, or a place to exercise, North Park offers a green oasis in the city.
