If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Praia do Curral Velho. Head southwest towards the main road (Ribeira da Prata). Follow the signs leading to Ilhéu do Curral Velho. After about 5 kilometers, you will reach the coastal road. Continue driving until you see the sign for Ilhéu Curral Velho. There is a small parking area near the entrance of the nature preserve. Note that some areas may require a small parking fee, so be prepared with local currency.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, look for a local minibus (known as 'almendras') that runs from Praia do Curral Velho to the nearby town of Ribeira da Prata. You can catch one near the central square. The fare is usually around 100 CVE (Cape Verdean Escudo). Once you reach Ribeira da Prata, you may need to walk for about 15 minutes or take a taxi to reach the entrance of Ilhéu Curral Velho. Taxis are available and should cost approximately 300-500 CVE depending on your negotiation skills.

If you prefer to walk and are staying close to Praia do Curral Velho, you can reach Ilhéu Curral Velho by following the coastal path. Starting from the beach, head west along the shoreline for about 3 kilometers. The walk is scenic but be sure to wear good walking shoes and bring water, as it can be quite hot. This route may take around 40-50 minutes depending on your pace.
