Car
If you are driving from Praia do Tarrafal, start by heading northwest on the main road (EN1-SF). Follow the signs leading towards Assomada. After approximately 15 km (about 25 minutes), you will reach the town of Assomada. Continue on the EN1-SF for another 10 km until you see signs for Ribeira da Barca. Turn onto the smaller road that leads directly to Ribeira da Barca. The lake will be on your right as you approach. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of local regulations.

To reach Ribeira da Barca via public transport, start at the main bus station in Praia do Tarrafal. Take a minibus (known locally as 'aluguer') heading to Assomada.
