From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest BART station at Downtown Berkeley. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. Get off at the 16th St. Mission station. Once you exit the station, transfer to the Muni bus (Line 33) heading towards the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood. Get off at the Haight St. & Ashbury St. stop, and walk a short distance to explore the vibrant streets and shops of Haight-Ashbury.
Public Transit
Start at the UC Berkeley campus and head to the nearest bus stop. Take the AC Transit bus line 7 towards San Francisco. Get off at the stop at Haight St. & Stanyan St. From there, it’s just a 5-minute walk to the heart of Haight-Ashbury, where you can enjoy the eclectic shops and historic atmosphere.
Biking
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Berkeley. Start from the downtown area and ride towards the Golden Gate Park. Enter the park and follow the signs towards the Haight-Ashbury area. It’s approximately a 3-mile ride, and you’ll enjoy beautiful scenery along the way. Once you reach Haight St., you’ll be in the heart of the neighborhood.
Rideshare
Use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. Simply input 'Haight-Ashbury, San Francisco' as your destination. The driver will pick you up from your current location in Berkeley. The ride will take about 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the drop-off point in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood, which is known for its unique shops and culture.
