From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop on University Avenue. Board the AC Transit Bus 72 or 72M towards San Francisco. Stay on the bus for approximately 35 minutes until you reach the 'Mission St & 24th St' stop in the Mission District of San Francisco. From the bus stop, walk a few blocks to explore the vibrant neighborhood.

Rent a bike from a local bike-sharing station in Berkeley. Start your ride heading south on Milvia Street towards University Avenue. Turn right onto University Avenue and continue until you reach the bike path. Follow the bike path across the San Francisco Bay Bridge. Once in San Francisco, navigate towards the Mission District by heading southwest on Harrison Street. This journey may take around 1 hour and is a scenic route!

If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk! Start from the center of Berkeley and head south on Shattuck Avenue. Continue walking until you reach University Avenue. From there, walk towards the Bay Bridge and head towards San Francisco. This is a long walk (approximately 12 miles) and will take several hours, but you’ll get to enjoy the sights along the way.

From downtown Berkeley, walk to the Berkeley BART station located at 2001 Addison St. Purchase a ticket to the Mission District in San Francisco. Board a train heading towards the Embarcadero direction. After about 20 minutes, get off at the '16th St. Mission' station. Once you exit the station, walk east on 16th Street until you reach Mission Street; the Mission District is just a few blocks away.
