From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest AC Transit bus stop at University Ave and Shattuck Ave. Take the Bus 51B towards San Francisco. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Ferry Building' stop. From there, walk towards the Ferry Plaza and catch the F-Line Streetcar towards Fisherman’s Wharf. Get off at the 'Beach St & The Embarcadero' stop. Pier 39 will be a short walk from there.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)
Head to the nearest BART station in downtown Berkeley. Take the BART train towards San Francisco (direction: Embarcadero). Get off at the 'Embarcadero' station. From the Embarcadero BART station, walk towards the Ferry Building and catch the F-Line Streetcar towards Fisherman’s Wharf. Get off at 'Beach St & The Embarcadero' stop and walk a few minutes to reach Pier 39.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in Berkeley. Start by heading south on Shattuck Ave towards the Bay Trail. Continue along the trail towards the San Francisco Bay. Once you reach the pier area, follow the signs to Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39. There are bike racks available near the entrance of Pier 39.

If you're in the vicinity of the Berkeley Marina, you can take a scenic walk towards the Bay. Follow the path along the shoreline heading southwest. This will lead you to the ferry terminal at the Embarcadero in San Francisco. From there, you can either catch the F-Line Streetcar or enjoy a leisurely walk along the waterfront towards Pier 39.
