If you are starting from the Big Sur River Inn, exit the inn and head south on CA-1 N (Pacific Coast Highway). Walk along the shoulder of the road for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the Big Sur River Gorge. Look for signs indicating the trailhead. Once you arrive at the trailhead, follow the marked trail leading down to the gorge.
