Getting There

• Walking

  From anywhere on Cannery Row, the aquarium is easily accessible by foot. Simply follow Cannery Row west; the aquarium is located at the end of the street. The walk offers scenic views of the bay. Allow a few minutes, depending on your starting point on Cannery Row.

• Public Transport

  Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) offers several bus routes that stop near the aquarium. From downtown Monterey, take the MST Trolley, a free service that operates during the summer months (Memorial Day through Labor Day). The trolley departs every 10-15 minutes from downtown Monterey, Fisherman's Wharf, and Cannery Row. Alternatively, MST lines 2 and JAZZ B also service the Aquarium. A single ride on MST costs $2-$3.

• Taxi/Ride-share

  Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft are readily available in Monterey. A taxi ride from downtown Monterey to the aquarium typically costs $7-$10 and takes only a few minutes. Note that prices may vary depending on demand and traffic conditions.

• Driving

  If driving, approach the aquarium via Cannery Row. Limited street parking is available, but several parking lots and garages are located nearby. The closest parking is Cannery Row Lot 7 at 160 Irving St, with a flat rate of $20 per day, or $5 if arriving after 5 PM. The Cannery Row Parking Garage at 601 Foam St offers covered parking. Parking here costs $20-$22 per day. Metered parking is available on nearby streets like Foam Street, Ocean View Blvd, and Wave Street, costing $1.50-$2.00 per hour. Parking meters are in effect from 9 AM to 8 PM.
