Walking from Carmel-by-the-Sea
Start in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Head southeast on Ocean Ave towards San Carlos St. Continue straight onto Carmel Valley Rd. After about 2 miles, turn left onto CA-1 S (Pacific Coast Highway). Walk along the highway for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will reach the Garrapata State Park Bluff Trail entrance on your left. The parking lot is located at the trailhead, and you can begin your hike from there.

Walking from Big Sur Village
From Big Sur Village, head north on CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway). Continue walking for about 8 miles. You will pass several scenic viewpoints along the way. Look for signage indicating Garrapata State Park Bluff Trail. The entrance will be on your right side, and you will see a parking lot where you can start your hike.
