Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, start at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street. Head south on San Carlos Street until you reach 7th Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Avenue and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Mission Street. Turn right onto Mission Street and continue straight. After about a mile, you will reach the entrance to the 17-Mile Drive. Note that there may be a fee to enter the drive on foot. Once on the drive, follow the path that leads you towards Cypress Point Lookout. Look for signs along the way directing you to the lookout, which is located approximately 1.5 miles from the entrance. Take your time to enjoy the beautiful views along the way.

    From the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, head towards Ocean Avenue and then south on San Carlos Street. Turn left onto 7th Avenue. Continue straight until you reach Mission Street. Take a right onto Mission Street and proceed until you reach the entrance of the 17-Mile Drive. Biking is permitted on the path, and after entering, follow the designated bike paths towards Cypress Point Lookout.
