Walking
From the center of Carmel-by-the-Sea, head east on Ocean Avenue towards San Carlos Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Mission Street. Turn left onto Mission Street and walk straight for about 0.5 miles. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Continue until you reach the junction with California Highway 1. At this point, you will see a sign for Grimes Point. Cross the highway carefully and walk towards the marked trail entrance for Grimes Point, which is located just off the highway.

If you're renting a bicycle, start from the Carmel Plaza and head east on Ocean Avenue. Follow the same route as walking, but you can ride your bike along the bike lanes. Once you reach Mission Street, turn left and continue to California Highway 1. Be cautious when crossing the highway to access the Grimes Point trailhead.
