Start at the Coronado Ferry Landing. Head towards the ferry terminal, which is located on the waterfront. Purchase a ticket to San Diego at the ticket booth. Board the ferry, which typically departs every hour. Enjoy the scenic ride across the bay, which takes about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the San Diego Convention Center, disembark and walk towards Harbor Drive.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From the Coronado Ferry Landing, walk to the nearest bus stop on Orange Avenue. Catch the bus route 901 towards Downtown San Diego. Stay on the bus for about 15-20 minutes and get off at the 5th Avenue & Market Street stop. From there, walk west towards the waterfront and continue on 5th Avenue until you reach El Prado in Balboa Park. The San Diego Model Railroad Museum will be on your left at 1649 El Prado.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk to the museum from Coronado. Start at the Coronado Ferry Landing and walk along the waterfront towards the San Diego Convention Center. From there, head north along Harbor Drive, then take a left on 5th Avenue. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with El Prado. Turn left on El Prado, and the San Diego Model Railroad Museum will be on your right at 1649 El Prado. This route is approximately 2.5 miles and takes around 50 minutes.
