From your location in Huntington Beach, walk to the nearest bus stop where you can catch the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) bus route 1. Board the bus heading towards Long Beach. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 1st Street. Transfer to the Metro Bus Line 130, which will take you towards Rancho Palos Verdes. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the 'Palos Verdes Dr S & Ocean Trl' stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Abalone Cove Park, located at 5970 Palos Verdes Dr S.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Huntington Beach. Start from Main Street and head south along the beach bike path. Continue past Bolsa Chica State Beach and into Sunset Beach. Follow the path towards the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Once you reach PCH, turn right and ride south until you reach the intersection with Palos Verdes Drive South. Follow Palos Verdes Drive South for about 3 miles until you arrive at Abalone Cove Park, which will be on your left at 5970 Palos Verdes Dr S.

If you're feeling adventurous and are up for a long walk, start from the Huntington Beach Pier. Head south along the beach until you reach the end of the beach path. From there, turn left onto Pacific Coast Highway and continue walking south. After about 6 miles, you will reach the intersection with Palos Verdes Drive South. Turn right onto Palos Verdes Drive South and walk for about 2 miles until you arrive at Abalone Cove Park, located at 5970 Palos Verdes Dr S.
