Getting There

  • Car

    From Joshua Tree National Park, take the main park road (Park Boulevard) and head southeast. Continue on Park Boulevard until you reach the junction with Highway 62. Turn left onto Highway 62 and follow it for approximately 18 miles. When you reach the town of Yucca Valley, continue straight as Highway 62 turns into 29 Palms Highway. After about 8 miles, follow signs for CA-111 South towards Palm Springs. Continue on CA-111 for about 15 miles until you reach Rancho Mirage. The Greater Palm Springs visitor center is located at 70100 CA-111, Rancho Mirage, CA 92270. Parking is available on-site.

    If you are using public transportation, begin by taking the Morongo Basin Transit Authority bus service from Joshua Tree to Yucca Valley. The bus runs several times a day, but check the schedule in advance. Once in Yucca Valley, transfer to the SunLine Transit Agency bus route that heads towards Palm Springs. This bus will take you to various locations in Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage. Make sure to inform the driver to drop you off at the stop closest to 70100 CA-111 in Rancho Mirage. Note that bus fares may vary, so have cash or a transit pass ready.
