Walking
From the Joshua Tree Visitor Center, head east on Park Blvd. for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Quail Springs Rd. Turn left onto Quail Springs Rd. and continue walking for approximately 1 mile. You will see the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park on your right. Once inside the park, follow the signs to Cap Rock Nature Trail, which is located a short distance from the main road. The trailhead is easily accessible and marked.

Bicycling
If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Joshua Tree Village Center. Head south on 29 Palms Hwy (CA-62) for about 1.5 miles, then turn left onto Park Blvd. Continue for another mile and turn right onto Quail Springs Rd. Follow Quail Springs Rd. to the park entrance. After entering the park, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Cap Rock Nature Trail, which is just a short ride from the entrance.

Take the Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) bus from Joshua Tree Village to the nearest stop outside Joshua Tree National Park. From the bus stop, it's about a 1.5-mile walk to the park entrance.
