Bus
From La Jolla, walk to the nearest bus stop on La Jolla Boulevard and take the number 30 bus heading towards Downtown San Diego. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Broadway & 1st Ave' stop, then walk 0.6 miles (about 12 minutes) northwest on Broadway until you reach El Prado. Turn left on El Prado, and the San Diego Model Railroad Museum will be on your right at 1649 El Prado.

If you are near the La Jolla Cove, walk south on Coast Blvd towards Girard Ave. Turn left onto Girard Ave and continue walking until you reach Pearl St. Turn right onto Pearl St and walk until you reach the intersection with Torrey Pines Rd. Continue straight to La Jolla Blvd, then turn left. Walk along La Jolla Blvd until you reach the bus stop to take the number 30 to Downtown San Diego, or continue walking to catch the bus at a more convenient stop.

Rent a bike from one of the local bike rental shops in La Jolla. Ride south on Coast Blvd, then take the bike path along Pacific Beach until you reach Mission Bay.
