If you are driving from South Lake Tahoe, head north on US-50 E for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with CA-89. Take the exit toward CA-89 N and continue for approximately 15 miles. As you approach Tahoma, keep an eye out for the signs indicating 'Rail Tracks.' Once you reach Tahoma, turn onto Tahoma Blvd and look for the parking area near the tracks. Parking is generally free but can be limited during peak tourist seasons.

Public Transportation
To reach Rail Tracks using public transportation, take the BlueGo bus service from South Lake Tahoe. You'll want to board the Route 50 bus heading towards Tahoma. The bus ride will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Get off at the Tahoma stop. From there, it's a short walk (about 0.5 miles) to the Rail Tracks. Follow Tahoma Blvd north until you see the tracks on your left. The bus fare is approximately $5 each way.
