Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Downtown Monterey, head south on Alvarado Street towards the waterfront. You will pass by various shops and restaurants. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with Del Monte Avenue. Turn right onto Del Monte Avenue and keep walking. You will see the entrance to the harbor and the monument will be located on your left, along the waterfront. This walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

    If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in Downtown Monterey. Once you have your bike, head south on Alvarado Street. After a few blocks, take a left onto Cannery Row. Continue biking along the waterfront until you reach the harbor. The Monterey Harbor Monument will be visible along the path. The bike ride should take around 10-15 minutes.

    You can take Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus #1 or #2 from any bus stop in Downtown Monterey. Get off at the 'Monterey Harbor' stop.
