Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Lake Merritt BART station, head east on 8th Street towards Oak Street. Turn left onto Oak Street, then turn right onto 9th Street. Continue ontocross over to Lakeside Drive, and follow it along the lake. The Pergola will be on your right, about a 20-minute walk. No costs involved.

  • Public Transport

    From the 19th Street/Oakland BART station, take AC Transit bus line NL, 12, 58L, 75, or 805 towards Lake Merritt. Get off at the Grand Ave/Lakeshore Ave stop. From there, walk east along Grand Avenue, then turn right onto El Embarcadero. The Pergola will be on your left. The bus fare is $2.10, payable by cash or Clipper Card.

  • Driving

    From I-580 E, take the Grand Ave/Lakeshore exit. From I-580 W, take the Grand Ave exit. Follow Grand Avenue towards Lake Merritt. Limited street parking is available around the lake. Parking meters cost approximately $4 for 2 hours. Several parking garages are also located within walking distance, with hourly rates ranging from $10 to $32.
