Getting There

  • Driving

    If arriving by car, navigate towards Dana Point Harbor. From Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), turn onto Dana Point Harbor Drive. Follow the signs for Golden Lantern and Dana Wharf. Be aware of potential traffic, especially during peak season and weekends. Parking is available in the harbor, but it can be limited, particularly during busy times. There is a four-hour parking limit, but fishing patrons are exempt with a permit obtained at the Dana Wharf front counter. Violation of the time limit results in a $45 fine. Consider using the free overflow parking on the East Island with the free shuttle to Mariner's Village, Wind & Sea, and Dana Wharf, operating daily from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM through May 31, 2025. Alternatively, free street parking can be found along Dana Point Harbor Drive east of Casitas Place and along Golden Lantern north of the harbor.

  • Public Transport

    For those using public transportation, take the Metrolink to the San Juan Capistrano Station. From there, transfer to the free San Juan Capistrano trolley to the Del Obispo & Stonehill stop. At that stop, transfer to the free Dana Point trolley to the harbor. The Dana Point Trolley operates from May 23, 2025 – September 1, 2025, with stops at Golden Lantern and Puerto Place. Check the trolley schedule for times. The Dana Point Trolley is free.

  • Walking

    If you are already in Dana Point Harbor, follow the signs towards Golden Lantern. Dana Wharf is located at the end of Golden Lantern, near the Catalina Express terminal. The walk from most points in the harbor is relatively short and offers scenic views of the marina.
