If you are in downtown Palo Alto, start at the Palo Alto Caltrain Station located at 95 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301. Exit the station and head north on University Avenue. Continue walking until you reach the intersection with El Camino Real. Cross El Camino Real at the light and continue walking north on University Avenue until you reach Stanford University. Once you are at the Stanford campus, follow signs towards the Main Quad.

As you approach Museum Way, you will be able to spot the Stone River installation by Andy Goldsworthy. The artwork is situated in the vicinity of the Cantor Arts Center, so you can also look for signs directing you towards the Cantor Arts Center.
