Discover more about Doce Robles Winery & Vineyard

Doce Robles Winery & Vineyard, aptly named for the twelve majestic oak trees gracing its 40-acre estate ('Doce Robles' translates to 'Twelve Oaks' in Spanish), is a family-owned boutique winery that stands as the first winery on the 46 West. Founded by Jim and Maribeth Jacobsen, this winery embodies the spirit of Paso Robles winemaking, offering visitors a warm and unpretentious experience. Jim Jacobsen, with three generations of grape farming in his blood, accidentally transitioned from grape grower to winemaker after a train accident involving 70,000 bottles of wine occurred near his family vineyard in 1994. Inspired, he and Maribeth purchased four 10-acre parcels on Highway 46W, which would become their home and the future site of Doce Robles Winery & Vineyard. Doce Robles focuses on crafting high-quality red wines at affordable prices. Their selection includes a variety of wines, such as Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Merlot, Sangiovese, Syrah, and Tempranillo, as well as unique red blends. The wines are known for their bright structures, soft fruit, and balanced tannins. Winemaking is done with small open-top fermentors, with the wines barrel-aged for two to four years in French, American, or neutral oak. The winemaking process is mostly gravity-fed, pumped only twice from field to bottle, preserving the fruit's characteristics. A visit to Doce Robles offers more than just wine tasting. The tasting room exudes a casual, home-like atmosphere, complete with a pot-bellied stove for warmth and ambiance. Visitors are often greeted by the winery's friendly German Shepherds, adding to the welcoming charm. A spacious deck provides panoramic views of the vineyards, inviting guests to relax and soak in the California sunshine. On weekends, the winery hosts karaoke nights, adding a fun and lively twist to the tasting experience.
