Public Bus
To reach Morro Rock Beach from Pismo Beach, start by heading to the nearest bus stop for the SLO Transit bus service. You can catch the bus at the Pismo Beach Transit Center located at 1000 Mattie Rd, Pismo Beach, CA 93449. Take the Route 15 bus heading towards Morro Bay. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the stop near Coleman Dr and Morro Bay Blvd. From there, walk towards the beach along Coleman Dr for about 10 minutes until you reach Morro Rock Beach.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Pismo Beach, such as Pismo Beach Bike Rentals located at 1000 Price St, Pismo Beach, CA 93449. After renting a bike, head north on Price St, then take a left onto Shell Beach Rd. Continue until you reach the intersection with Morro Bay Blvd, then turn left. Follow Morro Bay Blvd all the way to Coleman Dr, where you can park your bike and walk to Morro Rock Beach, which should take about 30-40 minutes cycling.
Walking
For those who want to enjoy a leisurely walk, start from downtown Pismo Beach. Head towards the beach and follow the boardwalk north past the Pismo Pier. Continue walking along the beach until you reach the end of the sandy area. Head up towards the access road on the right that leads into Morro Bay. Follow the road north; it will eventually lead you to Coleman Dr. Walk along Coleman Dr for about 15 minutes, and soon you will arrive at Morro Rock Beach. The entire walk may take around 1.5 hours, depending on your pace.
