This family-operated winery, located in the El Pomar District, was established in 2017 by Chad and Lauren Rava, who sought a departure from corporate wine grape growing. The winery specializes in crafting sparkling wines using the traditional Méthode Champenoise, setting it apart from others in the area. The estate spans 80 acres within a larger 2,000-acre vineyard, boasting 26 varietals across Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties. The tasting room provides a welcoming environment where guests can explore a diverse selection of wines, including their award-winning sparkling wines and classic estate wines. Visitors can enjoy guided tastings, learning about the sparkling winemaking process, or simply relax with a glass of wine while taking in the scenery. Cheese and charcuterie plates are also available. Rava Wines also serves as a venue for celebrations and live entertainment, hosting events throughout the year. The property, once a working Arabian horse ranch, features multiple venue locations, including a terraced pond lawn, an old-world courtyard, and a ballroom. Villa Giada, a three-bedroom luxury home, offers on-site accommodations. Rava Wines is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. Reservations are recommended for tastings, though walk-ins are welcome for wine and food purchases.
