From downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, start at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and San Carlos Street. Head south on San Carlos Street until you reach the intersection with 7th Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Avenue and continue walking until you reach the end of the street. Here, you will find the entrance to the Scenic Pathway. Follow the pathway as it leads you towards the coastline, where you'll enjoy beautiful views. Continue along the Coastal Trail until you reach the junction with the Whale Peak Trail. Follow the Whale Peak Trail, which will take you directly to Soberanes Point. The hike is approximately 2 miles one way and offers stunning views of the Big Sur coastline.

Begin your biking journey at the Carmel Plaza, located at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Mission Street. Head southeast on Mission Street until you reach the intersection with 7th Avenue. Turn left onto 7th Avenue and continue biking until you arrive at the Scenic Pathway. Once on the pathway, follow it towards the coastline, enjoying the views as you go. When you reach the Coastal Trail, continue along it until you find the junction with Whale Peak Trail. Bike up the Whale Peak Trail, which leads to Soberanes Point. This route is about 4 miles round trip with some uphill sections, so be prepared for a bit of effort.
