Getting There

Walking

From La Jolla Cove, walk south along Coast Boulevard. The tide pools are located between Wipeout Beach and Hospitals Beach, just off Coast Boulevard. Look for beach access points south of La Jolla Cove and the Children's Pool. Be aware of uneven surfaces and slippery rocks.
Public Transport

Take the MTS Route 30 bus from downtown San Diego to La Jolla. Get off at the Silverado Street and Herschel Avenue stop in La Jolla Village. From there, walk south on Herschel Avenue, then turn left onto Coast Boulevard. The tide pools are a short walk south. Bus fare is typically $2.50 per ride.
Driving

From I-5, take the La Jolla Parkway exit if coming from the south, or the La Jolla Village Drive exit from the north. Follow Torrey Pines Road until you make a right on Prospect Street, then a slight right on Cave Street. Follow that until it becomes Coast Blvd. Look for parking south of La Jolla Cove and the Children's Pool. Parking can be challenging, especially during peak season. Free street parking is available along Coast Boulevard with a 2-hour limit. Paid parking lots are available on Prospect Street. Expect to pay around $10 for all-day parking at hotel garages or paid lots.
