Public Transport
From downtown San Diego, the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) offers direct and frequent service to the Zoo. Take Rapid 215 or Route 7, which run every 15 minutes or better. Get off at the Zoo Place stop. The ride takes approximately 15 minutes. A one-way adult fare is $2.50.

From the heart of Balboa Park, follow the signs towards the San Diego Zoo. The zoo is located on Zoo Drive. The walk is generally easy and well-signed.

Driving
The San Diego Zoo is located at 2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. From Interstate 5, take the Pershing Drive exit if coming from the north or the State Route 163 north exit, then the Zoo/Museums (Richmond Street) exit if coming from the south. Parking is free in the lots in front of the Zoo and throughout Balboa Park. However, parking can be limited during peak seasons. On weekends, a free shuttle service operates from the Inspiration Point parking lot.
