Getting There

  • Driving

    From Interstate 5, exit at Carmel Valley Road and head west. After 1.5 miles, turn left onto Coast Highway 101/North Torrey Pines Road and continue for about 1 mile. The park entrance is on the right. Be aware that parking inside the reserve costs $10-$25 per vehicle, depending on the day. Free parking is available along Highway 101, but spaces are limited. During peak hours (10 AM - 1 PM), the South Beach parking lot often fills up, so consider using the North Beach lot.

  • Public Transport

    The North County Transit Bus 101 stops at the beach level and at the National University stop. To reach the upper reserve, get off at the National University stop and walk in from the Reserve's South Entrance. The bus fare is approximately $2.50.

  • Ride-Sharing

    Ride-sharing services like Uber or Lyft can drop you off at the bus stop outside the park gate. From there, you can walk into the reserve. Be aware that ride-share vehicles are not allowed inside the reserve without paying the entrance fee. A taxi from downtown San Diego to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve costs $60 - $75.
