From the transit center, it's a short walk to the heart of Old Town. MTS bus routes 8 and 83 stop near the park. A short bus ride from the transit center to Juan St & Mason St costs $2-$5.

From the transit center, head east towards San Diego Avenue and Twiggs Street, where the park is located. The walk is approximately 1,300 feet and should take about 5 minutes.     Free parking is available in several lots near Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. These lots can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and during special events. Limited free street parking is also available. After 5:00 PM and on weekends, additional free parking is available at the CalTrans building on Taylor Street. Note that there is no on-site parking at the park itself.
