If you're driving from San Francisco, take US-101 South towards San Jose. Continue on US-101 for about 30 miles, then take the exit for CA-85 South towards Cupertino. After approximately 5 miles, take the exit for El Monte Avenue and turn left. Continue on El Monte Avenue and then turn right onto Van Buren Street. The Grave of Shirley Temple will be located on your left at 582 Van Buren St, Los Altos, CA 94022. Street parking is generally available nearby. Parking is enforced in downtown Los Altos between 8 am and 6 pm for time-regulated spaces.

To reach the Grave of Shirley Temple using public transportation, start at the San Francisco Caltrain Station. Take the Caltrain Southbound towards San Jose. Get off at the Mountain View Station (about a 45-minute ride). From the Mountain View Station, transfer to the VTA Light Rail (Blue Line) towards San Jose and get off at the El Monte Station. From there, you can take a short taxi or rideshare service (approximately 5 minutes) to 582 Van Buren St, Los Altos, CA 94022. Alternatively, take the line 40 bus from Villa & Castro in Mountain View to San Antonio & Almond in Los Altos. Check local bus routes for a direct option to Van Buren Street.

From downtown Los Altos, the cemetery is a pleasant walk. Head east on Main Street, then turn right onto San Antonio Road. Turn left onto El Monte Avenue, and then turn right onto Van Buren Street. The cemetery will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1 mile and should take about 20 minutes.
