Public Transport
The War Memorial Opera House is easily accessible via public transportation. From the Civic Center BART and MUNI stations, it's a short walk. Take the BART to the Civic Center/UN Plaza station. Several MUNI lines also serve the area. A single ride on MUNI costs $2.50. Consider purchasing a day pass if you plan to use public transport extensively.
Walking
From the Civic Center BART and MUNI stations, the War Memorial Opera House is a 5-10 minute walk. Head west on Grove Street towards Van Ness Avenue. The Opera House will be on your left, across from City Hall.
Taxi/Ride-share
Taxi and ride-sharing services can drop you off directly in front of the Opera House at 301 Van Ness Avenue. A short ride from the Caltrain station will cost approximately $12-15. Be aware that traffic can be heavy in the Civic Center area, especially during performances.
