If you prefer to take a cable car, you can board the Powell-Hyde or Powell-Mason lines at the Powell and Market Streets Cable Car Turnaround. Ride the cable car towards Fisherman's Wharf, enjoying the scenic views along the way. Get off at the final stop at Fisherman's Wharf, and you will be just a short walk from Pier 39. Follow the same walking directions from the cable car stop towards Pier 39 to reach the Sea Lion Viewing Area.
