Public Transport
Start your journey at the San Mateo Caltrain Station located at 2nd Avenue. From the station, take the Caltrain southbound towards San Jose. Disembark at the Hillsdale Station. Once you exit, head to the nearest bus stop and catch SamTrans bus route 250 towards the Coyote Point Recreation Area. The bus will take you directly to the park entrance. From there, it's a short walk to the beach.
Bicycle
If you're up for a bike ride, start at Central Park in San Mateo. Head east on 20th Avenue until you reach B Street. Turn left onto B Street and continue straight until you reach the Bay Trail. Follow the Bay Trail south towards Coyote Point Beach. The trail is scenic and will lead you directly to the beach area, taking approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
Walking
For those who prefer walking, begin at the San Mateo Public Library located at 55 W 3rd Ave. Head east on 3rd Avenue, then turn left onto B Street. Continue walking south until you reach the Bay Trail. Follow the trail eastward along the waterfront until you arrive at Coyote Point Beach. This walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, but enjoy the scenic views along the way!
