Hiking from Lodgepole Campground

Hiking from the General Sherman Tree
Begin at the General Sherman Tree, one of the most popular attractions in Sequoia National Park. From the tree, take the 'Congress Trail' which leads you through a beautiful grove of giant sequoias. After about 0.5 miles, look for a sign that indicates the trail to the 'Kaweah River.' Follow this path as it meanders down towards the river. Expect the hike to take about 30-45 minutes, depending on your pace. The trail will eventually lead you to the riverbank where you can enjoy the view and relax by the water.
Walking from the Giant Forest Museum
Start your adventure at the Giant Forest Museum, located in Sequoia National Park. From the museum, take the 'Giant Forest Trail' heading south. After about 1 mile, you will reach a fork in the path.
