Shuttle Bus
If you're in the Sequoia National Park area, you can take the free shuttle bus that runs throughout the park. Look for the shuttle bus stops along the main roads. The shuttle has various routes; make sure to get on the one that heads towards the Giant Forest area, which is a central hub for attractions including the General Sherman Tree. Buses run every 30 minutes in peak season, so plan your trip accordingly.

Walking
If you are near the Giant Forest Museum, you can walk to the Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks area. From the museum, head south on the main path. Follow the signs towards the General Sherman Tree, which is the most famous tree in the park and is located in the Giant Forest. The walk is about 1.2 miles and will take you through beautiful groves of giant sequoias.

Bike Rental
For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bike at one of the visitor centers in the park. Once you have your bike, you can ride along the park's paved paths. Head towards the Crescent Meadow area, which is about 3 miles from the Giant Forest Museum. Follow the signs for Crescent Meadow, and enjoy the scenic ride through the forest.
