Hiking
From the Giant Forest area, start at the General Sherman Tree. Follow the well-marked trails leading to the Congress Trail. Hike along the Congress Trail, which is approximately 2 miles long, taking in the stunning views of the giant sequoias. After completing the Congress Trail, return to the main road and continue towards the Generals Highway (CA-198). From here, you will need to walk along the road (be cautious of vehicles) toward the direction of the Lodgepole Visitor Center. This walk is about 1 mile. Once you reach the intersection of the Generals Highway and the road leading to Vista Point, continue walking for another half mile until you see the signs indicating Vista Point. Keep an eye out for the beautiful vista views along the way.

Start at the Lodgepole Visitor Center, where you can catch a seasonal shuttle bus that operates within the park. Take the shuttle towards the Giant Forest area. Get off at the stop closest to the General Sherman Tree. From there, follow the same route as described above: hike the Congress Trail, return to the Generals Highway, and walk towards Vista Point. This option allows you to use park resources to reduce walking distance significantly.
