Gardens of the World, located in the heart of Thousand Oaks, California, is a unique botanical garden that transports visitors to different corners of the globe through its meticulously designed landscapes. This 4.5-acre oasis, situated across from the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, was established in 2001 as a gift to the community from Ed and Lynn Hogan, founders of Pleasant Holidays. The gardens are connected by a concrete trail, making it easily accessible for all visitors. The journey begins at the French Garden, where a grand parterre and a cascading waterfall create a stunning entrance. Arched pathways lead to the English Perennial and Rose Garden, boasting over 400 rose bushes and a charming pergola. The Italian Garden features a grapevine arbor and a traditional chain fountain, evoking the romance of the Italian countryside. Tucked away, the Japanese Garden offers a tranquil escape with a koi pond, a pagoda, and a gently flowing stream. The California Mission Courtyard pays homage to California's rich history with murals depicting the 21 California Missions and a Spanish fountain.
