From Walnut Creek BART Station, take the BART train towards Pittsburg/Bay Point. Get off at the Pleasant Hill/Contra Costa Centre station. Transfer to bus line 10 towards Martinez (Bus stop is located at the Pleasant Hill BART station). Ride the bus for approximately 25 minutes and get off at the ‘Alhambra Ave & 5th St’ stop. From there, walk north on Alhambra Ave for about 0.5 miles (approximately a 10-minute walk) to reach the John Muir National Historic Site at 4202 Alhambra Ave, Martinez, CA 94553.

Start at the Walnut Creek Civic Park located at 1375 Civic Dr. Head east on Civic Dr towards N Main St. Turn right to stay on N Main St and continue for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Alhambra Ave. Turn left on Alhambra Ave and continue walking for about 1.2 miles. The John Muir National Historic Site will be on your right at 4202 Alhambra Ave, Martinez, CA 94553. This walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes.
