Phnom Bok, constructed in the late 9th to early 10th century by King Yasovarman I, is one of three mountain temples built in the Angkor region. The temple, dedicated to the Hindu trinity of Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma, offers a serene escape and a unique perspective on Angkor's history.The temple complex features three identical sanctuary towers arranged in a row on a single terrace. These towers once housed statues of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, with some of these statues now residing in the Guimet Museum in Paris. While the temple is partially in ruins, the remaining structures showcase the architectural style of the Bakheng era.Climbing the 635 steps to the summit can be challenging, but the panoramic views are worth the effort. From the top, you can see the Kulen Mountains to the north and the Angkor plains to the south. The temple is open daily from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
