Getting There

  • Public Transit

    Start at the Halifax Transit terminal. Take the #14 bus towards 'Herring Cove' which departs frequently. After about 25 minutes, get off at the 'Herring Cove Road at Fergusons Cove' stop. From there, walk towards Fergusons Cove Road for about 10-15 minutes. You will see signs leading to York Redoubt National Historic Site. The site is located at 300 Fergusons Cove Road.

    Rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Halifax. Start your journey heading southwest towards the coast along the waterfront. Follow the bike paths to reach Herring Cove Road. Continue on Herring Cove Road for approximately 6 km. You will see signs for York Redoubt National Historic Site as you approach. The entrance to the site is located at 300 Fergusons Cove Road.
