If you're driving, head towards Halifax, Nova Scotia. From downtown Halifax, take the NS-102 S highway. When you reach the junction, merge onto NS-103 W. Continue on NS-103 for approximately 15 km, then take exit 3 for NS-332 towards Herring Cove. Follow NS-332 for about 4 km until you reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Herring Cove Rd. Continue straight, and follow signs for York Redoubt National Historic Site. After about 1 km, turn left onto Fergusons Cove Rd. The site will be on your right at 300 Fergusons Cove Rd, Fergusons Cove, NS B3V 1G3.

To reach York Redoubt using public transportation, take a bus from downtown Halifax. Look for the Metro Transit bus routes that head towards Herring Cove. You may need to transfer to a local route that services Fergusons Cove. Confirm the latest schedules on the Metro Transit website. Once you get off at the nearest stop to Fergusons Cove, you will need to walk approximately 1 km along Fergusons Cove Rd to reach the York Redoubt National Historic Site at 300 Fergusons Cove Rd, Fergusons Cove, NS B3V 1G3. Be aware that public transit may have limited service on weekends.

Bicycle
For the adventurous cyclist, you can ride from Halifax to York Redoubt. Start from downtown Halifax and follow the waterfront path towards Herring Cove. You will then join Herring Cove Rd, which will lead you to the roundabout. From the roundabout, take the exit onto Herring Cove Rd and continue to Fergusons Cove. You’ll need to navigate Fergusons Cove Rd to reach the historic site. This route is approximately 15 km and offers beautiful views of the harbor.
