Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Quartier des Spectacles, head towards Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest. Walk along Rue Sainte-Catherine until you reach Rue Bleury. Turn right onto Rue Bleury and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Commune. Turn left onto Rue de la Commune, and you will soon see the entrance to the Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History at 350 Place Royale. The entire walk should take around 15-20 minutes.

  • Metro

    If you're near the Place-des-Arts Metro station, take the Green Line (Line 1) towards Angrignon. Travel one stop and get off at the Jean-Drapeau station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Parc Jean-Drapeau. After enjoying the park, head back to the Metro station to take the Green Line back towards Berri-UQAM, and transfer to the Orange Line (Line 2) towards Côte-Vertu. Get off at the Champs-de-Mars station. From there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the museum. The total cost for a single Metro ticket is approximately CAD $3.50.

  • Bus

    If you prefer to take a bus, you can catch the 55 bus from any stop along Rue Sainte-Catherine heading towards Old Montreal. Get off at the stop at Place Royale which is right in front of the museum. The bus fare is CAD $3.50, and the journey should take about 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
