From Curacautín, head south on Route 181 for about 20 kilometers. Follow the signs that indicate Malalcahuello. The road will wind through picturesque landscapes, and you will eventually arrive at the entrance to the reserve. There are no tolls on this route, but ensure your vehicle is in good condition for the mountain roads.

Public Transportation
To reach Malalcahuello-Nalcas National Reserve using public transportation, board a bus from Temuco to Curacautín. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours and costs around CLP 3,000-5,000. Once in Curacautín, you can take a local taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to the reserve. The taxi ride from Curacautín to the reserve entrance is about 20 kilometers and will cost approximately CLP 15,000-20,000. Make sure to confirm the availability of taxis in advance, especially during the off-peak seasons.

For the more adventurous traveler, cycling to Malalcahuello-Nalcas National Reserve is an option. Starting from Curacautín, follow Route 181 southward.
