Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Temuco, which serves as a good starting point. From Temuco, take Route 5 southbound. Continue on Route 5 for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the town of Collipulli. From Collipulli, take Route 181 east towards Purén. After about 20 kilometers, you'll reach a junction; take the left fork onto Route 49. Follow this road for about 40 kilometers until you see signs for the Malleco River. The river is located in the Araucania region, and you'll find several viewpoints along the way. Make sure to have a map or GPS handy as some roads can be winding.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer public transportation, start your journey in Temuco. Take a bus from the Temuco Bus Terminal to Collipulli. Buses run frequently, and the ticket cost is approximately 5,000 CLP (Chilean Pesos). Once you arrive in Collipulli, you can take a local taxi or shared van to reach the Malleco River area. The taxi ride will cost around 10,000-15,000 CLP, depending on your exact destination along the river. Ensure you confirm the fare before starting your journey.

It's advisable to start early in the day to ensure you have ample time to reach your destination and enjoy the sights along the river.
