From any location within the Los Ríos Region, take Route 5 (Pan-American Highway) south towards Puerto Octay. Follow Route 5 for approximately 150 kilometers until you reach the junction for Route T-45. Turn right onto Route T-45 and continue for about 20 kilometers until you see signs for Las Cascadas. The last few kilometers will involve navigating some smaller roads, so keep an eye on local signage directing you to the falls. Parking is available near the entrance.
Bus
To reach Las Cascadas by public transportation, head to the nearest bus terminal in Valdivia, which is the capital of the Los Ríos Region. Look for buses heading to Puerto Octay or surrounding areas. Buses typically run several times a day, and the trip may take around 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at Puerto Octay, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance to Las Cascadas, which is approximately 15 kilometers away. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips.
Shared Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option than public transportation, consider taking a shared taxi (colectivo) from Puerto Octay after arriving by bus. These taxis usually wait for passengers at bus terminals and can take you directly to Las Cascadas. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. The cost may vary, but expect to pay around 5,000 to 10,000 CLP per person depending on the number of passengers.
