To reach Vale Nevado by car from the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, start by heading east on Avenida Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins (commonly known as La Alameda) towards the Andes Mountains. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Route 5. Take the exit to Route 5 (North) and follow the signs for Ruta 60 (also marked as Camino a Farellones). Continue on this road, which will take you through the picturesque town of Farellones. As you ascend, watch for the signs directing you to Vale Nevado. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions. Note that during winter months, snow chains may be required, and parking fees may apply at the resort.
